Procedure for MSME Registration.



The definition of MSME has been revised by the government on May 13, 2020 and as per the new definition, distinction between the manufacturing and services sector has been done away with.
Further, a new criteria of turnover has been introduced to classify the businesses.

As per the new definition:
Any Enterprise with Investment in Plant & Machinery of upto INR 1 Crore and Turnover of upto INR 5 Crores shall be classified as a Micro Enterprise.
Any Enterprise with Investment in Plant & Machinery greater than INR 1 Crore but less than or equal to INR 10 Crores and Turnover greater than INR 5 Crores but less than or equal to INR 50 Crores shall be classified as a Small Enterprise.
Any Enterprise with Investment in Plant & Machinery greater than INR 10 crores but less than or equal to INR 20 Crores and Turnover greater than INR 50 Crores but less than or equal to INR 100 Crores shall be classified as a Medium Enterprise.

The following information is required for MSME Registration of an Enterprise:
  1.  Aadhar Card of the Entrepreneur. (It must be ensured that the mobile number of the Entrepreneur is linked with Aadhar, since the same shall be required for OTP Verification).
  2. Social Category of the Applicant (General, SC, ST, OBC)
  3. Name of the Organization
  4. Organization type
  5. PAN Number of the Organization 
  6. Location of the plant
  7. Bank Account Details
  8. Number of Employees
  9. Investment in Plant & Machinery (INR)

Procedure:

1) Visit the official website for MSME Registration using the following link: (https://udyogaadhaar.gov.in/UA/UAM_Registration.aspx)
2) Enter the Name and Aadhar Number of the Entrepreneur and verify the same using the OTP received on the mobile number linked with the Aadhar of the Entrepreneur.
3) Fill in the above mentioned basic details
4) Submit the Form and verify the OTP received on the mobile number linked with the Aadhar of the Entrepreneur.
5) Upon submission, a certificate of registration will be generated which shall be conclusive proof of MSME Registration.
